I'm currently playing the Sims 3 on a Mac air and have 8 expansion packs installed with a hand full of custom content. It runs very smoothly for the most part, though it has random crashes. When reading the crash reports I noticed that the free virtual memory wasn't available. I have tried attempting sudo purge, but my mac seems to not want to accept my password while trying to free up unused RAM. Is there anyway to make my game run quicker? It just keeps happening overtime even after fresh factory resets. I'm aware that my computer is not made for playing the Sims and that custom content can cause other issues ect.. I just want to figure out if there is any way, (that doesn't cost money), to resolve this issue without going to drastic measures.

Hmm.. This may not be a whole lotta helpful.. Sorry about that *Blush* I'm not a Mac user.

But did find a link that might help:

One thing that keeps my game from crashing as well is to play with the wifi shut off. Sometimes adobe felt it really needed to ask me right now if I wanted it to update along with my antivirus. Enough ram would be used to stop TS3 from working.
