My Sim already an old lady
« on: June 20, 2013, 10:16:18 PM »
It seems like I have only just started playing the game and already my Sim has aged. She is now retired!  Is there a way to make the game play last longer.  All her time was spent eating sleeping, taking showers and going to work.
Also she was to deliver a group serving of hamburgers to someone but I couldn't figure out how many made up a group.  Was there anyway to figure this out?

Thanks again for your help!

Margaret

1. You can change the lifespan settings to much longer settings
2. Instead of clicking "Have ....." You click "Serve....." Clicking "Serve....." makes it a group serving

You can go into options menu and have the life span be longer. Also if she has enough Lifetime reward points you can go into the Lifetime reward tab and buy an young again potion or a freeze time potion. You have to have a certain expansion for that though. Good luck!
I love this forum and just want to say thank you to everyone! :) Have a great rest of your day!

Welcome to the forum.   The potions mentioned above will only work if you have Generations.

As for the group serving what I think wiry was trying to say is, the difference between a single meal and a group meal is how it is made.  When you click on your fridge there are two options: Have Breakfast/lunch/dinner or serve breakfast/lunch/dinner.   Any meal made with the Serve is a group meal.

To make game play last longer go to the menu with the blue square with three dots on it.  You go there to choose Edit Town, so it's the same button.  In that menu choose "Options".  In Options you will find a lot of different tabs that can change your game settings. One of those tabs will give you choices as to how long a Sim lives and whether they age or not.  I have my settings currently at high free will and epic life span and I've turned aging off.  This is so I can play test my builds without worrying about a Sim aging or the game progressing too far.

Another choice is to call up the cheat menu, (shift, ctrl, c), and type in testingcheatsenabled true, exactly like that.  Once typed in hit enter.  Then go to your Sims mail box and shift click on it.  It should bring up a menu where one of the choices is to make needs Static.  Static needs takes away all need for hunger, rest, bathroom and more.  All your needs are always met.  This is not allowed in challenges though.  It won't stop aging but it will give you more time to play your Sim and learn your way around.  Mine are frequently busy 24/7 with this cheat!

For group meals just choose "Serve (whatever meal is current)".  If it's hamburgers it's probably "serve lunch" or "serve dinner".
What?  Grannies can't play games?
I speak perfect Nooblik, (and some Simlish)!
