Legacy sims got stuck in garden ... and died :-(
« on: December 08, 2009, 07:28:12 PM »
...Luckily I have a spare, and am starting a new line through him.
I got to generation 4, and my lovely couple had 2 girls, and I was investing a lot of time into them - got the mum's gardening skill full. Then one day she and her hubby were playing with the sprinklers....and kind of sunk into the ground and got stuck!
NOTHING I did could get them out, and I had saved the game already without realising.  Eventually their moods got so low (full red bar) for so long, that the male died. The female is still stuck in the ground, sunk up to her ankles. She cannot even read a book, pass out or use her phone. Her kids both got taken away by the social worker as a result of neglect.
It was all very annoying - has anyone else had this happen to them, and is there anything I can do to get her out, or if this happens again?

Whenever something like this happens, you need to reset your Sim.  To do this, open the cheats window by pressing Ctrl, Shift, and C at the same time.  You'll know the cheats window is open because your screen will get a little darker and you'll be able to type words in the upper left corner.  You need to type exactly this (without quote marks): "resetSim Firstname Lastname" then press enter.

It's case sensitive, so be sure to capitalize Sim and both names of your Sim.  Example:  resetSim Angelica Ant (enter)

This will reset your Sim and get them unstuck.  Sorry you already lost a Sim and some kids because of it.  Next time, come here before your problem gets so far along.  :)

Hee hee! Angelica Ant! Hee hee! I like that name :)

Wow, thats so annoying, im on generation 3 on my legacy and if i lost them i would get the sims game and break it then throw it into the ocean on a hot day so it would melt and be eaten by fish and octopus. Then i would get my phone and call every number in the universe until i reach the owner of sims then i would track the call so i could find out where they live and go there and punch them in their eye twice.

Next time the social worker comes, build a wall around him/her so they can't get out and they die. Death is easy to manipulate to your advantage in this game. (Too bad it doesn't work on the repo man. >:()

There aren't too many things in Sims 3 that results in a slap on the wrist for a screw up. Completely forgetting to pay bills is one of those things, and there has to be a consequence. I'm glad there is a penalty. Otherwise, what would the point be of paying bills?

It's not the repo man taking my stuff, it's that he laughs after he does it! >:(

And those times I fast-forward through a week to not notice the bills notification and lose some valuable piece of furniture in the middle of a test.

this is sort of off topic but what Da Vinci said about the walls. I've once had a repo man die at my house due to fire... 3 things lit on fire (due to my unlucky sim and me forgetting to get a fire detector) my sim, the stove, the coffee table, and the repo man caught on fire >:(
my sim survived (but was in serious need of care) but repo man died

Thank you for having this in the forum!  I had a wedding party and over half of my guests got stuck.  I could not have any interactions with them at all.  Of course I had saved as soon as my sims were married and had a ton of frozen in place sims.  Thankfully I was able to reset them one at a time and they disappeared.
Ignorance is not an excuse, please read the forum rules.
