Help with buildling a kid house.
« on: August 12, 2010, 12:11:07 PM »
I want to make a childish like house (basically a kiddy type room only with a house). Any suggestions?

-You could try and us semi-bright colors for the walls and floors.
-For patterns, I suggest going to Create-a-Style. Go to the list of pattern types: Go to "Themes," that has a lot of kiddy type patterns (cowboys, duckies, etc.)
-Try to avoid traditional type objects, lean toward modern.

Good luck, this seems like a fun house to make!

I would also like my house look like a daycare. Meaning I would want it to look almost like a daycare in real life. Any help there?

Basically daycares have toys, cribs, mats, highchairs and all sorts of things strewn all over the place.  It has been forever since I have been in one, but that is what I remember, just lots of bright colors and toys.

Ah that's what I'm looking for... Though I'm having problems putting it down on paper. -.-

I'm trying the hardest that I can but I just can't get the shape of the house right.

I'm having problems trying to build the building. I can't seem to build it right for some reason.

I'm having problems trying to build the building. I can't seem to build it right for some reason.

I'd start with a foyer, like a place to "check-in/out" the kids.
Then a nursery for the babies and toddlers to sleep/ be fed/ cared for.
Also, add a toddler play-room for their toys: doll house, play tables, xylophones, stuffed animals or anything else to keep them entertained
(I'd also include a sterio for the extra "enjoying music" moodlet)
Make sure to make a play ground outside for children: swings, slide and jungle-gym. (also include a trampoline if you have ambitions)
Make a cafeteria if you want, though it is not nessecary, make it a room of it's own but replace one wall with a bar to eat at.
Don't forget bathrooms! Use the "private" stalls so many people can "go" at one time.

Hopefully this more helpful than before! Good luck! ;D

EDIT: For the cafeteria I meant not an open area like 3 full walls, and the 4th side could be a bar... If that makes more sense.

Put your rooms where you want them and what size, then build from around that.

Do a search for floor plans for a daycare.  There are many free ones out there.  You could also search for Sims daycares because there have been some building challenges around where they had to design a daycare.  I am sure the exchange has some and although I don't think I'd risk downloading them, it would give you some ideas.
