Forgotten Burial Mounds in France
« on: July 22, 2010, 05:06:46 PM »
I can't seem to figure this out. I am in France and I did the A Trivial Affair challenge which I have finished but when you first go down the steps of the Forgotten Burial Mounds there are like two rooms that are open for view. One you can't get to though. It has two treasure chests and some metals and such plus a door but I can't figure out how to get to that room. Anyone know?
Here is a screenshot of the room:

From the outside there are three entrances to the Burial Mounds.  One is only accessible if you have Pangu's Axe.  I'm pretty sure that if you are unable to get to that room from where you are, that you will need to exit, and enter through a different way.

Good luck, I hadn't fully explored that area until just recently.  It's actually pretty cool and a bit of a brain twister.

Looking at the burial mounds from the road your sims drive to it, on the left of the small hill there will be a big boulder hiding a hole in the ground that you can inspect to reveal the first stairs.
If you go up a bit, you'll see a a floor panel (it blends in a bit with the greenery so it may be hard to notice at first) and you will reveal the second stairs if you step on the panel. Be aware that these tombs have some hidden traps, but otherwise you should be fine. I don't remember there being any mummies there or anything either. But the tombs do have a lot of diving wells, piles of rubble, and many keys and treasures to find.

If I remember it correctly, one of them also had a French Signet for the collection. Embarrassingly enough, I had to use cheats to find it; in the final room, there will be a hidden door near the entrance you came in from. I think it was a part of those tombs, but I may be mixing it up with another tomb now...  ???

Anyhow, I really like those tombs, so I really recommend you do them.  :)

Well, you could always zeneport...  :P

That's actually what I do when I can't find the entrance.

I could but that would require a lot more work since I have no skill in it at all yet and it is a challenge character so I don't want to go out of the way to do martial arts just to zeneport there when I don't necessarily need to get there.

I am completely lost in this room as to what to do.  There is a statue on a standing pad, and if you move it off you can stand on it and the stairs open up - but if you get off it, the stairs close up and you can't move the statue back on it without blocking your way to the stairs!

On the other side of the room is also a place to put a heart keystone, of which there are 2, down those stupid stairs ^^^  UGH -

Does this have something to do with the 3/5 pieces of moving statue that I have in backpack?

If I remember correctly, for that room, slide it off the panel then look at the pic and see the statue that is directly under it in the pic - walk across that middle section and push it between the other two statues. Now you can go and replace the original statue on the panel, then go around to the other end and pull it away from the stairs. Then go back around so that you are between it and where the stairs were and pull it back onto the panel, this time you will be on the right side and be able to access the stairs. The pieces  you have in your backpack have nothing to do with adventures, when you get 5 pieces, you can put them together at home and have a statue.

GREAT!!!  But tell me, what way do I slide it, something is confusing me about what you posted, I guess I'll have to try it out and see what I can do with it, because I'm seriously stumped and getting perturbed.

OH and btw even though I haven't completed my task there in France I got a notificiation that I'd completed the Tomb challenge.  HUH?

It's simple:
First move the statues so you can go into the space where the stairs are placed. If I remember correctly and understand your picture well enough; the statue on the lower half of the picture; from your sims direction, push it. Then pull the other down a square towards the direction of the lower statue.
Go into the space where the stairs have now disappeared.
Pull back the upper statue to the floor contact; and go downstairs. I believe that would be the part with some nectar racks, and several traps on the way to the other end of the room? Anyhow.
When you're done in the room, collected all your stuff etc, go back up (you won't have to go back down there, don't worry).
Push out the statue, and go wherever you'll go next. And voilą, this part of the adventure's done!
I hope it helped, unless you hadn't already figured it out yourself. :)

Well, thank goodness I finally figured it out but I didn't have to except I got to go back so many times because my time ran out (yes I'm a dork) that things would respawn and I collected a TON of coins etc there.

I was so ticked off when I saw what I had to collect when I got there.  What a lame thing to do.

Thank you all for your help!
