I was wondering if the Workaholic trait helped rock star sims. I mean, if you think about it, it doesn't quite add up that they can 'work from home' on a computer, when their job is centered on the guitar skill and band mates.

I've also noticed several times now that when I make a baby genius, and they age into a toddler, that when I make them read a baby logic book or play with the peg box, the icon accompanied by the action is a circle and slash over the genius trait, meaning they wouldn't normally bother. Why is this? And do they learn logic faster from these devices than normal children?

Even though it doesn't make much sense, a Sim in the music career can still use the computer to work from as a Workaholic.  It increases their performance meter just like it would for any other career.  I guess maybe you could consider he's doing some research for venues or something.

I've seen the circle and slash Genius icon, too.  I haven't found that it increases or decreases the speed of learning logic for the toddler.  I always just ignore it and go ahead with the toy and books.  It seems to me that even if they don't want to be bothered with it, they still have to actually learn it to get the skill points and I haven't seen a better way to teach a Genius.

Of course! They're too smart for peg boxes and logic books!

He could also be working with one of those 'music maker' programs too, I guess...Or helping with accounting, since now his parents own the theater.  ;D

Well, I know the kids are technically too smart, but they don't seem to avoid it either. When I was working with this current genuis's brother, she went and started reading one of the logic books on the floor, without me telling her. It just strikes me as odd that she has a 'anti-genius' button on it, yet she still does it willingingly.

My parents were always very concerned because I didn't play with regular toddler toys... Putting blocks into a box; that's for simpletons! I'd rather read a book!
At least that was what I found when I was 2 years old.

This toddler just reads everything in her reach, even if it's too simple for her...

So, what exactly are evil masterminds doing when they've got the workaholic trait? Trolling forums? That doesn't help their work status...
