Supernatural Controls

I don't have Supernatural yet, but I plan to.  And for a story I plan to play, I was wondering, in a fresh town other than Moonlight Falls since it starts with supernaturals already, about how long does it take story progression to seed the town with some supernaturals?  For instances, if I only wanted a few of them in town, and then turn it off to keep more from appearing, how many days would you recommend I wait?

I'm no Supernatural genius, but I would recommend one sim week. The game spawns occultation very quickly so I reckon a week would give you a couple of Supernaturals. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
