Bringing your own book to city hall

Hi I'm stuck on an opportunity that asked my sim to bring books that she'd written to the library in city hall. I found my own books at the town library but wasn't able to drag them into my inventory. They're not at the book shop or in my book shelves at home, how do I complete this opportunity?!

When your Sim completes a book, you'll get a free copy of it in the mail.  If you've misplaced your free copy, you can order copies using the computer for a small fee.
