I played Sims 3 fine for a few years. I recently got Supernatural (my only expansion), and I played that fine for multiple months as well. But I haven't been on in about a month and when I tried to play last night, everything was greatly messed up. In the grand tradition of Sims glitches, I spent hours scouring the internet for solutions but I haven't solved it yet so I've come here. First of all, the game loads all the way to the menu, but never has any of the "Brewing potions", "Brrraaaaaiiinnsss" type text under the loading bar, which is strange. Sometimes when I get to the menu, a
blank pop-up comes up asking "Retry" or "Quit". Nothing happens when I press retry so I just have to end my game. Other times, I make it through okay without that blank message, but when I try to load a house, all goes wrong. The family loading screen shows up on top of the menu screen, which is abnormal. It never loads fully through and when I "ctrl, alt, del" it, my computer does not even recognize that Sims is running at all. I did a "factory" reset (just renamed my EA folder so Sims started over without reinstalling), and then I managed to get into a
new game and into create-a-sim. I realized in create-a-sim that Supernatural was probably causing all my problems because all of the supernatural clothing showed up like all glitching sims clothing: a mixture of turquoise or black body suits that managed to make invisible various body parts. The game got increasingly glitchy when I tried to make my sims into non-humans (fairies, witches, etc.) Also, about a quarter inch of the screen to the left was off my monitor screen, and I have a sneaking suspicion it wasn't a general computer resolution issue, but yes, another Sims glitch, surprise. I'm becoming increasingly frustrated with this as I have no idea why it suddenly has botched everything up. Any ideas?
