Changing a default key

Hey everyone. So, I want to do some stories, and my tab key is broken. I can't just get a new keyboard, because this one works fine. Except for the tab key and the escape key. I think you can change the default keys, but I'm not sure. Can someone help me with this?

As far as I know you can't change the key preferences without going into the files.  There is no option under options or anything like it.
