Townies move in with less money than what they have
« on: May 15, 2013, 06:48:26 AM »
I just started a new Immortal Dynasty in Lucky Palms and when I moved in Lovers? and Price they each only moved in with 20,000 when they were supposed to have more. When moving in Lovers? it showed they had 80,000 but as soon as I moved them in my household only gained 20,000. I had the same thing happen in Barnacle Bay. Anyone else has/had this problem? Is there a fix?

It's not a glitch.  This is how the game has always been. Rich sims will always move in with only §20,000 no matter how much they have in the bank or how much their house costs.    Non-rich Sims will always move in with only §5000 each.

The only way to make money off move ins is to choose ones that have nice cars and make sure they are driving them.

Thanks, I guess I never really noticed it before I normally play SV and Riverview for my dynasties and I was distracted by the cars and not the money. No matter how long you play the game you learn something new.

Rica is this rich Sims as in they were rich because the game made them that way, or because the player did?  My rich Sims that I created and saved to library always move in with all their funds, minus the cost of the house.  If they merge with someone the entire family gets to share the funds.

I've cheated to gain wealth by moving in some poor families into a rich household that I created, move out the rich person leaving the poor family wealthy, then delete the former rich one in the clipboard.  Since the original rich one is still in my library I can do this several times to populate a town with well to do folks.
What?  Grannies can't play games?

When you move in some one, that doesn't involve using the move interaction or edit town (just ask to move in), you either get §5,000 or §20,000.   This includes Sims that place in the world as far as I know.

You know the sims are rich because your character will eventually find out they are rich from visiting their home or having a conversation if I remember correctly.

Ahh, right!  Different from moving in someone from Edit Town, just a Sim to Sim action.  Got it.  Thanks.
