More Sims visiting?
« on: July 28, 2010, 05:48:20 PM »
Since the latest patch/s and Ambitions it seems that my sim is getting more drifters over at the house. Anyone else noticed this? I was getting visitors almost everyday which was driving my author sim nuts. Also some teen dropped by, broke the computer, and left...which also made my author furious. I'll have to start locking rooms again. So far I haven't had as many toilet clogging visitors as I did on TS2.

I didn't think visitors would come into the house unless you invited them, are you saying they just waltz in uninvited? I haven't really had a problem with lots of visitors. I get one or two now and then, but they are usually friends of the family and they tend to just stand by the door till I either ask them in or ask them to leave.

The only thing that I have noticed, is when you purchase a trampoline, you get alot of visitors who like to jump on it.  I haven't experienced it any other time, except with the trampoline and then I just don't invite them in.  They will just stay outside, although, I must have a sim that does not like company, because whenever someone comes over and stands outside, she goes over, on her own, and tells them to leave or shoo's them.  Pretty funny.

I've noticed this.  Also for the first time, neighbors have stopped by to welcome the new household.  I don't know if this was supposed to be happening all along, but it's only happened for me since Ambitions (possibly not even Ambitions but the patch for Ambitions).

I think they've supposed to be welcoming you all along.  I remember my very first Sim had neighbors come to welcome her the first day.  I've had it happen a few times since then, but it's very rare.

In TS2, everytime you moved into the house, three neighbors would show up to welcome you.  In sims3, it is like Pam said, maybe 1 time out of 5 that someone will come visit.  So it does not happen very often.  Well, if you happen to think about, how many people come visit you when you move into a new neighborhood.  Back in the day, heck when someone new moved in, someone might bring a casserole or cake or something and they had welcome wagon.  Not so much now a days.  We have been in our house five years.  The other day someone came over to welcome us to the neighborhood, I thought, where have you been, lol.
