Video Game Developer Job

My sim received a laptop from the video game developer job and has the "work from home" option, but the carpool still comes every work day and my sim attempts to go to work.  Is there a way to cancel the carpool without manually doing it every time?  Otherwise, it gets annoying and kind of defeats the purpose of being able to save on commute time by working from home. 

Buzzler has a mod at ModTheSims that allows you to cancel the carpool; the name of the mod is Carpool Disabler.

I do know that in order to start at a higher level at the Art Appraiser job, you need a degree in Business, not Fine Arts as you would expect.  Since you need painting for the Art Appraiser job, though, it doesn't hurt to get two degrees.
