Money cheat not working

Hi all,

I tried the money cheat which was listed in the cheats on the guide here.  I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I'm typing first control, shift, C to bring up the console then typing in testingcheatsenabled true "space" familyfunds "space" familyname "space" then the amount of money.

So this is exactly what I'm typing in - testingcheatsenabled true familyfunds Smythe 100000

Its not working at all, am I typing it wrong?  Thanks for your help

The way it goes is you turn on testing cheats then you use the family funds.  It's two separate commands so it would be

Ctrl+shift+C   "Testingcheatsenabled true"    (hit enter)
Ctrl+shift+C    "familyFunds Smythe 100000" (hit enter)


Make sure there isn't another family in the neighborhood with the same name or they could get the money instead of you.  Also make sure to always double check the spelling of the household name.

You need to do them seperately. Like this:
testingcheatsenabled true
(hit enter, bring up the console again)
familyfunds lastname #####

You had the codes right, just need to do them one at a time.

Thanks, I tried it and it worked great!  But too good to be true I guess because I tried it again when I went to play another household but I'm assuming it only works once in a game or else I'd have to start a new game, am I correct?

No you can use it multiple times but like I said before - make sure there aren't houses that have the same name as yours.    It's based off the household name and if more than one family has that name, then it may not work for the one you're playing.   Trying changing the household name to something new.  You can do this in Edit Town.
