My sims do all sorts. They tend to be quite neat - they always flush the toilet, make their beds, wash dishes and clean dirty counters, but they never wash their hands, despite me telling them to constantly. The one thing they always do after they get bored - and it drives me INSANE - is play on the trampoline. I have had sims on that from morning til night. Once one of my child sims actually skipped school because she was on it. In the end I deleted the stupid thing. Only good sims get rewarded on my watch  :)

I have had adult sims teach their kids skills - walking and talking at least, not potty training. I have also had sims go out autonomously. My spouse ended up playing video games on the library computer, despite the fact I set him to paint and the family actually have their own computer anyway. I was not best pleased.

'Well! I've often seen a cat without a grin,' thought Alice, 'but a grin without a cat! It's the most curious thing I ever saw in my life!'

I have a Sim who texts autonomously. He has the inappropriate trait and he keeps sending insulting texts to his boss. Canceling the action doesn't work. By the time the icon shows, the text is already on its way.

There is one type of sim that CAN repair autonomously. Aliens! No sim will ever use the repair interaction autonomously but aliens have a loophole around this. A handy alien will have another interaction called Recombobulate Broken Item or something like that with which the repair broken items with their psychic powers instead of busting out a wrench and that interaction they do autonomously.

Aliens rule. ;)

Oh the new phones, I'm not sure I like them, the autonomy on them is too high and like you say you cannot cancel it in time, they will get it out and start texting or browsing and before you know it they've learned social networking, I was looking at the job challenge and thinking that will be the killer skill as it's too easy to autonomously learn.

I have what I assume is an odd glitch going on in my current game, I'm still trying out all the supernatural stuff and I got an ancestral wardrobe, I have noticed both husband and wife will keep flashing either woohoo or try for baby with... on the screen while thinking of the wardrobe, they never actually go through with it though and it just drops, and it's not a mod causing it as it's a challenge file.

To be honest I'm glad it drops as I don't want autonomous try for baby, going by how often he keeps trying to queue it up I'd be overun with them  ::)

I prefer to have full control over my sims.  From what I've seen, if I don't they end up doing things that are fun instead of what they need to do.

I've been playing this elder man. He has 4 female roommates. He tried for baby with 1 of them, and after he was born, he was put into my household, I freaked out and merged him out. I'm not playing with cheats which is the reason I only want control of one. Well, he decided to try that again with the same woman. As soon as she had the baby, she was added to my household. I decided I would never control her, but I would let her stay to watch and see if they take care of babies on their own. There was times she was in the orange, and she never got on the honor roll, but she's now a teenager and the social worker has not come to take her, so they are taking care of her! It's awesome to watch it, while never having to control what happens to her. Now he's also got another girl with another roommate, but she is still an infant, but I hope they take care of her the way they did Sierra. Their names are Sierra Shannon and Annemarie Bakshi. I had no control of the name or traits.
