Saving Families
« on: April 12, 2013, 05:54:46 PM »
(I hope this is in the right place...)
One of my families is really big and has a very glitchy household. I want them to start over in Riverview, but I don't want to lose the kids, and all I've got saved is the parents. How do I save their family? Is there any other way to move towns other than starting a new game? Will their relationships be retained?
Please take a look at my story, the Thousand House!

There is, in edit town mode select the household that you're playing and there's a button that says 'save to library' or something like that and it looks like a folder with an arrow pointing to it. You can save just the family or their house as well. Basically, all their skills and relationships with each other will remain and you won't lose any progress. Then after you're in Riverview you can select your family from the household library.
Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you.

You can go into CAS using a dresser or a mirror with each of the kids and save them to bin, then reconstruct the family in a new game in CAH.  Then you can edit relationships to restore the relationships within the family.
Or you can do as advised by NearlyWitches and save the household to the library.
Or you can get the addon Porter by Twallan which will pack up the family plus other families in town and preserve all their relationships when you unpack it in a new town.
