Tiberium vs pink diamonds

Hey guys.

I have just noticed that tiberium is WAYYYY more common than pink diamonds, even though tiberiums being more expensive and beautiful. I don't get what use is there now for pink diamonds when it is so cheap?

Pink diamonds are still needed for making Simbots if you have Ambitions. And they look pretty on shelves and end tables.

Well, I forgot about Simbots, as I never made one myself, but I think that's the only thing. To be, the spire cut tiberium is the best looking collectible, and is more common. I have only ever found ONE pink diamond and I have been playing Sims 3 since 2009. And I find at least four tiberium in 3 week game time.

It depends on how you are finding your gems to my knowledge.   I find more pink diamonds when using the board breaker.  I find the same amount when using a miner.  My dog finds more pink diamonds than tiberium.    However, pink diamonds and rainbow gems are the absolute rarest spawns in the game if you're finding them on the ground.

Yup. I never found a pink diamond, or I don't remember if I did, ever on the ground. I found my only one using the board breaker. And even though I have Pets EP, I never really got a pet. So I don't know about dog hunting stuff

I tend to find more tiberium with the board breaker than pink diamonds, though in contrast I find more pink diamonds just exploring a world than I do tiberium. I can't say that I've found either yet with my werewolf though...he tends to mainly just find metals and bugs.

My werewolf finds a lot of Tiberium. Dogs tend to find more pink gems, but I've gotten Tiberium from hunting dogs too.
Have'nt played much with a bord breaker though, so I can't say anything for them.

One issue with tiberium there isn't with pink diamonds is it gets people around it sick. I once put it next to a bar and, although funny for a while, it completely ruined the lounge, since the mixologist spent more time throughing up then attending costumers.

I've never had anyone get sick from being near a Tiberium, only from having it in inventory.

It takes a while, but if the sim stays close to it long enough a "feeling sick" modlet will appear. Try putting it on the end table next to the bed or the tv's couch it should do the trick.

Tiberium is like radiation sickness, at least that is how I see it.  Around it long enough and the sim gets sick; has the green face and then the dash to the toilet.  I've forgotten at least twice to remove it from my inventory after a trip.  Have a sick sim and then remembered to check and yep, I had forgotten to put the tiberium outside. 

I think, but not sure, that Carl mentions it in the guide, I think in the gem area. 

If you have the gem cutter (can use the one at the elixer store if not) and place the dust on the ground and it will grow more tiberium.  Once had four piles of tiberium and they all grew.  Checked later and I have the first one and four others; all around $39,000 each. 

Had placed the dust, it snowed and I forgot about them; then there are these weird green sparks coming out of the snow and I remembered I had tiberium dust.

I think pink diamond is not so easy to find in fact!

I don't believe I have ever found a pink diamond lying on the ground either. Only found it with block breaker.I only recently figured out what was up with the the small spire tiberium and I agree it's better....especially with the gem cutter.
