Any way to make a sim change clothes faster?

I've noticed this problem before but now it's really driving me insane.

It takes about a sim hour for my sims to change clothes. Especially with the installation of seasons (which I adore) my sims will stand for about an hour in front of a toilet or before they go outside in cold weather before they finally change. Is there a way to make this go faster? It's really getting ridiculous.

It could be though that this computer sucks and I am getting one before I go to university. But still, for the few months I have left, this would be lovely.

Pause for a real-life minute when you notice a sim stuck in a mid-wardrobe change. The game will load their outfit while you're paused, and they won't waste as much in-game time waiting for it to load.

A lot of it is a computer issue. My sims can stand in the same place for quite a while while changing outfits due to my incredibly awful rig, so pausing is my best friend.
