A few people have reported glitches where sims in their household become unable to interact with other sims and when they try to sleep they get bounced out of the bed shortly with no animations. Then when saving the game and coming back in, the sims with the problems become greened out and unselectable for any commands.

I just had that happen to me for the second time and I have found a work-around for this:

1. Go to Edit Town, select the household and evict the household with the lot.
2. When the household gets sent to the clipboard, select it from the clipboard and save it to the library.
3. Open a new game in a new town.
4. Select a lot and move your household and lot in.
5. Select the household and play them for a few seconds to make sure the previously glitched sims are selectable and can interact.
6. Go back to Edit Town, evict the household, and save the household to the library (delete the old version from the library first).
7. Go back to your glitched town, move the newly saved-to-library household with their lot back in (you may need to bulldoze the old lot).
8. Start playing your household again in their old neighborhood.

All my sims that were glitched are working now. However, all the school progress my teen sim had made was lost and she is starting out with a C grade again, so I doubt she will be valedictorian. My teen sim also lost her discovered potions, sigh.

I've done this with a sim who had the Pervasive Private Eye LTW.  Before moving to new town she had 25/35...but once moving to a new hood it reset to 0/35.

It had also reset when they came home from vacation.

For some reason the first few steps are confusing me. I never seem to be able to save the family and the house in the same place in order to transfer them to another neighborhood. I followed the steps and by the time I got to another neighborhood and placed the house, the house was considered "empty" and I lost the Sims that were in it. Other times when I try saving the sims and household to the library, without evicting yet, neither appear in the library. I try saving the household WITHOUT the sims to the library, and even that doesn't happen. Am I just doing it wrong? Or is there any other place to find a library besides the panel below in the Edit Town view?

EDIT: I also try saving the sims without the house, and I cannot find them in the library. Something tells me this is a bug related to the previous bug rather than an error on my part, now.

This is a great save for the average game, Laurencius, but it isn't good for a dynasty or legacy game.  Why?  You lose all the portraits when you transfer to another neighborhood.  (sigh)  Fortunately I had another save, my original one I had just built off of, that I could go back to.  Days of work wasted but at least, thanks to you, I can save other games that got buggered up.

What?  Grannies can't play games?
I speak perfect Nooblik, (and some Simlish)!

Thank you, Thank you Laurencius. I followed your instructions. You have saved my Sims and my sanity. I have started from scratch many times because of glitches I couldn't fix.

I have my Sims back!!!!   ;D

For the most part, that plan works pretty good, but sometimes, nothing works.  It did work on one of my families, because one little girl just plain vanished from the family.  I just evicted them and put them in another house.  I finally got the little girl back, but took alot of evicting and moving.

This is good help, but caveat:
I wish the first step had included the warning: SELL!
I was able to reclaim a buggy family, but I lost all their venues, partnerships and vacation homes.
It's only simoleons, but it was 3/4 million simoleons.
The family that got buggy had been one of my faves for a while obviously.
Anyway I'll go back and try again. :(
