Single Parent Sim?

I found and wooed a handsome young adult Sim for my Immortal Dynasty, but when the move in happened and I checked his ancsetry, all he had was a mother.  I've had 2 Sims with no ancestors (one was an original townie, and the other an explorer sim) and another with parents, but never one with only *one* parent on their geneology.  Dead parents still register in the geneology, but there's nothing at all for his father (and he's not an alien hybrid!)  So I'm a bit curious.  Is he an adopted Sim?  When I moved him in, he lived with his mother and an elder female roomate not related to either of them.

I suppose it would be the same as creating a Single parent sim in CAS, only one parent would show for the children in the family tree in that case. Was he an original townie?

It's not uncommon to find a single parent Sim. It's just something the game generates from time to time and doesn't really mean anything.

He's the husband for my generation 4 Immortal, and I don't have any supernaturals in the game, so pretty sure he's not an original.   Thanks for the replies, it was just an odd *huh* once I had a look at his family tree.
