Sims Game Update 1.50

Hello,

I recently re-installed my original sims 3 game and moved my saved files into the original game- after I did that I opened up my sims 3 game launcher and an 1.50... update appeared. The update is for all the expansions... etc. I don't have any expansions. I only have the original sims 3 game and that is all. I am afraid that if I choose to update it it'll corrupt my game system for me not to be able to play and I will have to re-install the game all over. Any suggestions of what to do??? Thank you!

Hi there aprilann, welcome to the forum. :)

It shouldn't corrupt your game. It works on any platform - so for instance, I had all Expansions that had been released installed when I updated, and there were people missing one or two, and then people in your situation, with just the base game. Of course, there were some glitches for some people, but the main issue was regarding a missing file in a patch, forcing everybody to use a 1GB download to patch.

I'd just download the patch, if I were you. :) If there were too many glitches rendering the game unplayable, EA would've released Patch 1.52 (or whatever is next) already. And anyway, TS3 doesn't take too long to install on it's own (or so I remember), so if you do luck out and have to reinstall, it won't be as bad. :)

I agree with Seabody, download the patch, it should improve your game as it addresses bugs and glitches in the base game as well as setting the game up for the EP's which you don't have.

I am having trouble with this super patch it seems (again reinstalling after a long break). Should I post here or create a new topic?
