Strange Sim conduct
« on: March 23, 2013, 11:08:00 PM »
Hi.  I do successive saves as I play (and occasionally delete the old ones.)  I have one save where everything works ok.  However, after that strange things start to happen;

Sim 1 will get in bed, pop out quickly and not be able to sleep.
I will have the three boxes for my three sims but cannot click on the Sim 1 box to select her.
Sim 2 went to Egypt.  I put the cursor on her but cannot click on her to make her do anything. I can click "go here" so the mouse works.

I tried doing the resetSim a couple of times and it appeared to reset.  I don't think it solved any of these problems though.

The weird part is that it seems to affect different Sims at about the same point in the timeline.  Don't know what that really means.

I have Sims 3, generations, world adventures and added seasons about a week ago.

Thank you for any advice you can give.

Welcome to our Forum.

Both of these things sound like a corrupted file to me.  I'm not aware of anything that will solve the problems, except maybe buying a new bed for the first one.  But not being able to click the Sim and the problem with traveling are probably a corrupt file.  Sorry I don't have better advice.

If the Sim is still a part of the household picture in Edit Town, you can go to Edit Town and evict the family then put them back.   You'll lose wishes for your family but you may be able to play with them all again.  Can you go back to a save prior to the one you're using?  Do you use the backup save system?   You lose progress in the game file but you may get your Sim back.  Otherwise I fear it's as Pam said.

Thanks.  I have tried all three beds and bought a new one and none worked.  But I went to a previous save and that has not re-occurred.  It just seems like one bug after another and I keep going back and lose what I've done.  My daughter has been playing the same game, with Seasons, and hasn't had a problem yet.  I'll keep working on it.

Sometimes with the "hopping out of bed" bug, all you need to do is keep sending them back to bed, and the problem will resolve itself the next night.
