Game crashes when saving after I uploaded recent patch

I have been researching this problem for two days and cannot find any posts similar to what I am experiencing. My computer is fine, I've never had this problem until I installed the latest patch, 1.50, which allows dumpster diving among other things. I have all expansion packs up through Seasons. My game will run without a problem. I've tried troubleshooting it to determine if it had something to do with using a custom created world, but it freezes in other towns as well such as Moonlight Falls, Sunset Valley, etc. I thought it had something to do with the angler career and fish in my inventory, but my newest sim created for the purpose of troubleshooting this problem is an author and that game is also freezing. I thought maybe it had to do with dumpster diving, but it did not freeze after dumpster diving either. It seems to only freeze after building or modifying a house. I play the legacy challenge always, so I always end up building. All morning I've tried to determine what causes the game to freeze. I built a wall, it didn't freeze, I modified the wall and saved, it didn't freeze. I built a platform, it didn't freeze, I put a dumpster dive chair on the platform, no freezing, I thought I had narrowed it down to the angler career because the game did not freeze no matter what I did in build buy mode, however I just expanded my platform and purchased a bookshelf, added a wall and the game froze. It only freezes while saving though, I can still play the game after building/modifying, but I can't save. I even tried to save as another game name, it still froze.

Again, this has only started happening after I downloaded the latest patch.

Is anyone else having this type of problem?

Are there any solutions?

I'm somewhat techy but not overly so.

Hi Liscat7,

This sounds like the familiar building-saving bug that came with Patch 1.50. I can't quite explain how to fix it. So I thought suggesting to read over the thread called Patch 1.50 might help.

This reminds me of the problem that came with the Seasons patch.   Do you have rain turned on and has it rained in your game file?

I have/had the same problem, where it would crash while saving after any kind of building. The way I get around it is, whenever I've finished building, I play a little bit in live mode before saving. This seems to work - it always saves fine after some time in live mode. Hopefully that will work for you too
