My game is seriously messed up help please

Okay , hello guys and girls. I have a situation, a very serious situation that i need your help with right now. It all started when i got a new internal hard-drive i installed all my sims 3 games onto there but never ended up playing them, weeks go by and when i want to play them (edited by saltypaws), i entered the main menu, picked my neighborhood and when i went to create-a-household it just wouldn't load the icon would be there spinning and it would seem as though its loading it just wouldn't, i forced excited i uinstalled (ambitions and university) along with all my other expansions and the base game, i reinstalled everything (except ambitions and university life, which i deleted) and still it would not load. i than uninstalled everything to see what expansions were the problem and its turns out the base game itself wont load than i discovered i couldnt even choose a house-hold after i quit the tutorial.  Please help me find and fix the problem. And my system can handle the sim3 and its expansions so it cant be that. and its not a virus i scanned my comp with avarst or whatever its called. PLEASE HELP P.S my expansions are world adven, late night and supernatural

First, welcome to the forum.  Next, I edited your post, because talking about piracy or where you got it is not allowed on this forum.  When you unintalled your games and reinstalled them, did you put the patches in before each game? or the superpatch which you can install after installing the base game.  Another suggestion, is uninstall again, go in and make sure all folders with sims3 are gone and start fresh.  Install sims3 base game, superpatch and I like to restart after each install, it is not a requirement, but personal preference.  See if that might help, other than that, I am not sure what the problem might be.  Also before you reinstall, maybe clean your computers cookies and do a defrag.

Thanks sorry I'm new to the forum obviously . I did not know of this super patch but I know I did not install it. where can I get one. I will try all you suggestions and report back thanks again

If you want to re-install your game do make sure you use the manual uninstall procedure, a good procedure is described here: http://linna.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:TS3_Uninstall

It is a good idea to follow the procedure quite closely, as any remnants you leave may come back to haunt you.

I'm doing a lot of re-installs (for experiments and all that, not trouble related) and found the following procedure rather quick and certain:

1) Install Sims 3 base game
2) Apply Super Patch
3) Install EP/SP's preferably in order of release (WA-HELS-AMB-FLS-LN-OLS-Gen-TLS-Pets-MSS-SHT-KPS-Diesel-Seasons-UL), ignore any messages about patching
4) Apply Super Patch again, choose "Patch Anyway"

Note, this assumes you're having a legit game. If you don't, all bets are off. :-)

To add to what SimAd said,  You have to load the game up in between installing any expansions prior to pets.   All expansions prior to pets had their own patches that are not included in the superPatch, never have been and never will be.  So make sure you pause in between, load the launcher and get the updates.

I also recommend a program like CCleaner after an uninstall.   It's free and does wonders with finding registry errors so you don't have to.
