Rejected for Building Contest 2013 #4 due to the fact that I already had an entry, and I am a complete noob around here.

But I'm an awesome noob.

Lo and Behold, my new idiotic creation!

The Cardboard Box

Lot Size: 10x10
House Size: 3x5
Expansions, Stuff Packs, Store Content, or Custom Content Required: None (Again, base game compatible)
Price (Furnished): $3,875
Price (Unfurnished): $3,150

Because sometimes, all you need to live in is a good cardboard box.



Not Shown: The roof (It's the same as the floor, anyways)



And here, I show, the fact that, yes, it really is 3x5



Now, I bet you're thinking "That doesn't meet the criteria, there's no entertainment!"  Did you know that the easel provides entertainment?  It has a Fun rating of 2.  Who knew?

This house is as useful as Solid Snake claims it is.  That is, it will save your life.  So "Treat your cardboard box with care.  Take care of the box and it'll take care of you.  Don't think of it as just another box.  Treat it with love...Don't be rough, okay?"  Have fun living in your Cardboard Box! How did you determine that no one likes it? Surely not based on whether anyone had commented within an hour of posting it!

I like it simple to a T. Plus it suits my game style, since I have no expansions as of this moment and don't worry about not getting any downloads or likes or stuff like that. Most people don't catch on to things as quick as others would like them to. Trust me, give it time, and you will see results

Pupdude, I'm going to ask you not to worry so much about your build's reception. This is a rather small forum, so frequently it can and will take days for something to be downloaded or even commented on for the first time. A lack of downloads in itself is not even a good representation of the interest in a build - many members, myself included, can appreciate and like someone's creation without downloading it into their game.

Speaking of your Cardboard Box, I like it  . It's a nice cheap compact design that I could see myself using for Legacy games where Sims start out with very little money. If you're capable of more complexity by all means post more of your work, but otherwise it's a very respectable build on it's own and no one is going to accuse you of not putting in enough effort. No, based on 0 downloads within an hour of posting it 

In fact, STILL 0 downloads, and it's been maybe 3 hours.  And yet it has 62 VIEWS.

I can say that some of my builds don't get their first download until after a day or two. Just because you have gotten a number of views doesn't mean it will downloaded that many times. Sometime people go on this forum on a tablet or mobile phone (like me) and can't download the lot because of that.

Hehehehe...honestly, I think it's awesome. I don't have any stuff packs so I know it wouldn't surprise me with any random substitutions. I don't plan on downloading it only because I've only downloaded one lot ever from anywhere and I'm not even sure how to do it from this site. It's functional and has a skill object - there's even just enough room to grow your own ingredients for autumn salad and stu surprise if you wanted to do that.

Just another thought for you, certain hours of the day I find that not many members are online. If you click the link at the top 'Members', you can sort this list by status. Right now there are barely a dozen members online. Some of my best builds took weeks to accumulate downloads, because not everyone plays and checks the forums as obsessively as I do.

Right.  Probably too used to other forums, where I get pretty much instant feedback.  In fact, back when I did some FATE modding, my things usually got downloaded within an hour at least once.

Its a nice idea, but i think the house itself is pretty easy to build yourself Maybe thats why not many goes through the download/install ect. But it certainly does down the affordable starter houses 


And who needs a seperate toilet/bathroom?
