My game keeps stopping

Ok this is going to be hard to explain but i'll try my best to. My game keeps pausing, like freezing. But stuff still moves around, like my fire in the fireplace, the Sim diamond, my fish in his little bowl, and I hear the birds and all the sounds as well. But my TV stops and all my Sims stop it lasts for like 2 minutes then snaps out of it but then maybe 2 minutes later it does it again. It just started doing this like a hour ago. I just uninstalled and reinstalled The Sims so I have no clue what's wrong with it this soon. Can anyone help?

Are you, by any chance playing in China?

Sometimes NPCs get stuck causing your game to stutter.   This is very common in China, but can happen anywhere.  Open the cheats panal - Ctrl-Shift-C and type: resetsim * then press the enter key.  This will return your sims, and the entire town to home position.

If this works, then the problem is stuck sims.  If it continues to happen, you will need to locate where they are getting stuck and remove the block.  In China this is done by changing the problem lot to "no visitors allowed".   Alternatively, it could possibly be a community lot which you have placed or a problem specific to the toen you are playing.  It may just be a one off stuck sim too or a place with just occassional problems.  Example, I have found horses stuck in the fence of the Science Facility in Sunset Valley, it is just an occassional problem, so, I don't do anything about it except resetsim * when it happens.

I'm not in China... When it happens I also can't click on anything. Like the speed buttons and stuff. My Whole game like freezes, but like I said stuff still moves around I can move my mouse around just ALL Sims stop moving but ill try the resetsim

That seems to have done the trick. So far my game hasn't stop at all
