Author Topic: Sims 3 Launcher : Error During Startup. (Read 13311 times)

Hi all.
During the week my sims 3 game started crashing, so I uninstalled all of my games manually and reinstalled using Origin. Anyways, I went on to my launcher to update and so I did, although afterwards I got the error that something went wrong in the startup. I checked on the official forums and here and nothing helped, I'm very frustrated because I just spent 40EUR on SN.

Hopefully someone can help.

I am running on Windows 7 and have no mods or CC installed, by the way.

try to run base game and all expanions on win95 mode and run as admin.
go in propertis of every game and set compatibility to win 95 and check "run as admin".

Hi Sims3Clacla123,

It sounds like something did go heywire, so try this: Uninstall everything Sims 3 again. Install just the base game. Then download and install the super patch.

Which can be found here:
Official EA Download Link for The Sims 3 *Cumulative* Manual Update
http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/175477.page

This will update your game to the lastest level - version 1.50.56 and includes patches for all expansions and stuff packs.

After installing the super patch, then install your expansions and stuff packs. Then try running the game to see if that works.

Well, lets put it this way, that didn't work on my sister's, not saying that it won't on someone else's.

Hmm...

I'm sorry to hear that. Hubby and I are wondering if there might be something wrong with the Super patch or something along those lines. As it seems the patch might be a little buggy. In another thread in this forum, they're talking about the newest patch.

Ricalynn said something like EA knows about some/all the bugs and they're working on a fix. But I'm not sure if they've found a fix for it yet.

I tried this with high hopes and it didn't work for me. I am going to try uninstalling and reinstalling again
