Game update 1.50 - Problems with "invalid file" on installation

I'm having problems with 1.50. It's almost completing but then it says it couldn't be completed due to an invalid file. Does anyone have tips on how to sort this out? Could it be because I have two Sims 3 folders (with name changes when I want to play challenges or non-challenges)?

I was especially looking forward to "The frequency of getting called by an NPC Sim to go out on a date has been lowered." I guess I'll have to wait

This was covered in the Patch 1.50 thread on the EA announcements board.  There is a problem with the regular patch but downloading and installing the SuperPatch will get you done today.   EA doesn't know why so many people are getting the invalid file found but they're looking into it.

Thank you so much for replying! It says something about the quality of this forum (and you especially Ricalynn it has to be said) that my instinct was to come straight here instead of going to the Sims 3 site or EA.
