Use to, not sure if this is the case anymore, if you had a level 10 painter and when they get so far into the painting, you could tell by the moodlet what level of painting it was going to be, before they were even finished. I did some experimenting and so did a few other members and if your sim, while painting, got the beautifully decorated moodlet, the painting was probably a masterpiece or brilliant. I believe if it is either one of those, when they are done and you hang it on the wall, is when they get the moodlet. Like I said, this has been some time ago and truthfully, I have not even paid attention that much anymore. Will have to see if that is still the case.
