I sparring autonomous for sims, or does one need to order the action?

Also, do sims have to have a similar skill level to spar?

I have to order my sims to do it.

I don't think their levels have to be even, but for my sims, they often end up at around the same levels. Someone can correct me on this if I'm wrong.

Are you absolutely sure you've never seen sims sparring on their own before?

I just want to make sure I don't remove TWO possible supermaxes from my dynasty by my sims sparring autonomously.

Never had autonomous sparring with my sims. They get the "wish" to spar; but, I have to push it.

I've never had autonomous sparring.   I also micro-manage like a boss.   

As for level, I think Sims have to be at least level 1 before the option to spar will appear.

No autonomous sparing for me either, just loads and loads of wishes spawned. And as MoMoll said, you need at least lvl 1 for it to be available.

If it was autonomous, I could probably micromanage it away so Athletics would still be a possible Supermax.

I have never had automatic sparing they seem to love the board breaker.
