My Sim lost a trait!
« on: July 06, 2010, 08:27:19 PM »
So this is one of the problems I've been noticing lately with my game. One of my sims recently aged from teen to young adult. When he aged up, he got the No Sense of Humor trait (it's a legacy, so I couldn't choose the trait). However, I noticed while playing today that he no longer had the No Sense of Humor trait, though he is still an adult. That is the only thing I noticed different from when I played yesterday to when I played today. Does anyone know why this is happening? No, I don't use mods, and I haven't downloaded anything from the exchange or store recently. Could it be that my computer is just getting glitchy from running for so long? It's been a while since it's been turned off, which I know can be pretty bad. Thanks for the help!

I have heard of a dropped trait, but not a trait that just vanished.  Did a trait replace that one?  You said he no longer had the trait.

I've had this happen before.  It's just an odd little bug.  You can replace the trait by enabling testingcheats:

1. Shift-Ctrl-C
2. Type "testingcheatsenabled true" without quotes
3. Shift click the Sim in question
4. Select Change Traits
5. Add back the correct trait
6. Close testing cheats with "testingcheatsenabled false"

Basically salty, the sims only had 4 traits. It dropped so to say. And thanks Pam, I'll do that next time I get on. By the way, like my siggy Pam?

Only reason why I had said that, was that I have had sims that, for some unknown reason, ended up with four traits and I could not add one, even with testingcheats, so was not sure if you had only four or just lost one and still had a slot.   :)

Yup, exactly what Saltypaws just said.  Sometimes the testingcheatsenabled trick works and sometimes it doesn't.  Seems to be very random in that regard.

Oh well, then maybe he really did lose a slot and nothing can be done about it. Well he has no plans for life, he's a spare so I'll just complete his lifetime wish, get 100,000 points for him and move him out. Oh and Pam, I believe I found the quote in my siggy while I was reading through the weird and funny pics topic. I don't think it was a too recent post.
