My Pregnant Sim Keeps Getting Demoted!
« on: January 16, 2013, 07:45:19 PM »
Every day that my sim has been pregnant, the notification that her carpool will arrive pops up (even though it shouldn't, but I've just been ignoring it) but the carpool never arrives, so I don't send her to work since she's supposed to be on maternity leave. Then she had her baby, but on the same day, she wound up getting demoted because he job performance was so poor after missing work, even though when she first became pregnant, the game gave her 4 days off for maternity leave! I'm afraid that she's going to end up getting fired completely while on maternity leave.

Has anyone else had this happen to them or knows of a solution? She's in the business career and she was at level 8, although now she's level 7.

No solution for you, but I am having the same issue.  A sim I play is pregnant with her third child.  Her children are close in age and she hasn't been to work since she popped for her first pregnancy.  I also get the carpool notifications.  My sim hasn't gotten fired yet, though, and it's been close to two weeks since she last went to work, so maybe that's not something you need to worry about.  I'm just kind of bearing with the annoyance of the notifications, hope you gets yours sorted out.

Has your Sim been demoted or lost some career performance?  Or are you just getting the carpool notices?

The same thing did happen to my sim while she was on maternity leave. Her job performance didn't drop. She did go to work when her leave was over with no problem. I just ignore the car pool pop ups.

Just had this with a male Sim who had recently married and isn't due to return to work until tomorrow. His performance didn't drop, and I tried sending him to work - no dice.

In response to Pam, she's not seen any drops in performance, but she's also not gotten a lot of performance to lose, either.  She worked only half a day before she went on maternity leave.

I still haven't figured out exactly what was causing this to happen to my sims on maternity leave, but I found a solution using Nraas' StoryProgression mod. Under General/Options: Careers, you have to change "Restrict Some Levels To a Single Sim" to False. Since she was a CEO, and most companies only have one CEO, I believe that's what the problem was, although why this was happening to her while she was on maternity leave is still confusing to me, but at least I found a solution to the problem of being demoted. I hope this helps someone else too!
