Teppanyaki Grill and Wood-fired Oven
« on: January 15, 2013, 06:38:33 AM »
Interesting problem just cropped up. Several days ago I purchased venues that made the Teppanyaki grill and wood-fired oven available.

I was able to use both these items without issue. However, today I created a new residence wherein I installed the grill and oven. My new Sim cannot use them. She can do the volcano onion and egg toss tricks on the grill, but cannot cook anything. She cannot use the oven at all.

My Sim is a level-10 cook and I've tried moving both items to different locations just to be certain they weren't blocked -- didn't help.

I know this isn't as serious a problem as some posted here, but any ideas would nonetheless be appreciated.

Done that -- several times.

Thank you for the suggestion, however.  ;)

Had this happen with the wood fire oven. I think I had to reinstall the wood fire oven. if not, maybe try a new savegame?

I trashed the game and started fresh with a new Sim in a very conventional style residence (no diagonals, overhangs -- just a box). I also totally depopulated the town (Riverview). Both grill and oven are now working as advertised.

Have you cleared out your caches recently? I know my grill went all buggy when I accidentally deleted the ccmerged.package file. Reinstalling the item is the only fix, and thankfully an easy one.

I can't get mine to work either (the oven).  I'll try reinstalling it.  I wondered if there was some wierd thing about location, like it couldn't be inside or outside (I tried both), or had to be in a community location (tried that too).

Anything else I should try if reinstalling it doesn't work?
