Other Houses
« on: January 17, 2013, 11:56:30 AM »
Me again!

Can you put furniture in other households? My house is full but one of my sims has a girlfriend and baby in another house, but the babies sleep on the floor. They haven't got a cot/crib. so I wondered if I could put one in it.

Many thanks

Well, one way is to go to "edit town", change active households and then purchase what you need, or if you want to use "testingcheatsenabled", from live mode, go to the house you want to build on and "ctrl/left click on the ground and you will get the option to buy on this lot. :)

Many thanks. If I do either of your suggestions will I lose my current house/sims?

No you won't, the only thing you will lose if you change households, is their wishes and opportunities, which I don't really mind that myself. :)

Once you change active households and get what you need, just change back to the one you were playing and they will be fine.  I have a neighborhood I have had for over a year and must have 15 houses I go to.  Sort of like having a bunch of games in one.  I am always going to other households and adding cribs, extra beds and building on to their home.  It is a challenge, but you should be fine. :)

If you go to another house in live mode and (with testingcheatsenabled true) shift-click on that lot, then "buy on this lot", none of your wishes or opportunities will be affected. But what you buy or build will be charged to your own household funds. Not a problem if you restore it with the familyfunds cheat. In edit town mode you have no obligation to switch households in order to build on other lots. And you'll see no impact on your own household funds. You only need to switch the active household if you wish to play those characters in live mode instead of your own.

Yes your family can move with the computer or cellphone, if they have enough money to buy it. If I see a house that look great on the outside and want to see the inside, I sent my sim there and have him look through the window lol.
