Base Game Code to Register Sims3.com???

I got the sims 3 a long time ago and I have world adventures too, but I lost the books and the computer
I originally installed them on is gone. I didn't get to register them on the sims3.com. Do I need the base game code
or can I get a new expansion and register that. I'm trying to upload my custom world but it says I need to be registered.

I tried putting my world in downloads but it wouldn't show up in the game even though it said "install success!"

I think you need the base gam registered to be able to upload stuff to the exchange.  If you have the game installed on your curruent computer though, then you would have needed the code to install it.  You might be able to find it somewhere in one of the files, but idk.

I'm pretty sure you need the base game registered to upload your custom world, or whatever else yo would want to upload. I'm not sure about downloading though. The same probably applies.

Nope, any expansion will do. My partner and I share our sims 3 games, so for a while only one of us could have an account. Then we got some expansion packs, and I was able to use those to create an account. I've uploaded a couple of things to the exchange without any problems. I can't download directly from the exchange - it always says I need a store update, even though I'm pretty sure I do - but I don't know if that's related to the fact that I don't have the base game registered. I can, however, download indirectly, and I've bought + downloaded from the store without any problems. Either way, give it a try - I think it'll be fine.
