How to Raise the Research Metric for Medical Career??

I have a Sim who is a Level 10 Doctor, yet her Research job metric is and always has been on the 'neutral' face. She has 2 'medical journals' in her inventory, but no matter how many times she reads them, the research metric stays the same. I have never played a doctor this far before, so I do not know if she is supposed to be getting new journals to read or not. Am I missing something obvious or is this a glitch?

seems you read the journals and just deal with a neutral, unless things have changed since then.

Thanks! Good to know that it is near-impossible. At least she is already at Level 10.

I don't know if this will bring the research metric any higher than "neutral", but a doctor gets a new journal every day at work.  If you fall behind in reading them every single day, you'll never be able to catch up on the metric.  Once the day has passed, that day's journal is replaced by a new one.

She has only two journals, she already had both when I moved her in (she was a townie). She has not ever gotten a new one, I check every time she returns home from work.

It may be a bug but at least it doesn't go below the neutral face then.   The journals don't change as much as the number at the end changes in the name.  There is no way to tell a difference without reading the name every time.  When she goes to work, does she actually work or does it just say going to work?  Do you have her work hard, play golf?  Has she gotten to the end of her career bar and gotten a raise yet?

She has gotten one raise so far. The journals are definitely the same ones because when I click them the option is to "reread" not just "read". The metric never goes any lower so her job performance still raises, just slowly. I also did not know about this play golf option, so thats good info to have.
