Permanently empty inventory

So my Sim came back from University, went home, and went to bed. While he was sleeping, I pulled one of the photos he'd taken at University out of his inventory to hang on the wall--and everything in the inventory vanished. His laptop, the street art bag, some collectibles and science samples, a couple books, some more photos, I don't remember everything that was in there. Inventory screen is blank and empty.

So the first thing I did was try to put the picture back in his inventory, just in case that would fix it, but the picture won't go back into his inventory. In fact, I can't drag anything in there. It stays empty. I haven't tried dragging items to his picture on the side, maybe that method will work to place things in inventory, but what happened to all his stuff? It's not in the family inventory, either.

I haven't been able to find any references to this problem so far. Does anyone know about this?

Hi Ynde,

So I mulled over your question and couldn't think of anything. So I asked Hubby if he had a suggestion to try.

He said, if you haven't tried this already, try reloading your saved game to see if that helps.

This is the first we're hearing of this glitch. There may not be anyway to get his items back unless you have a previous save to go back to.

I tried reloading the save, and no luck--but I tried again this morning, and everything was back to normal. I guess I just had to restart the game. So, no big deal as it turns out. Thanks!
