Call in fake sick!

I remember reading before that someone wished we were able call in sick again and I just wanted to say we can! Yay! I don't know if it came with a patch or if it was in Seasons or Supernatural as I got them both at the same time! I just noticed this and didn't see anything on it. Sorry if this has already been stated!

It came with patch 1.42 because my dynasty founder was able to do it before I had gotten Seasons.

It didn't do me any good as a doctor. My sim got called to work in the middle of a party she was throwing so I figured I would try calling in sick. Nope, it didn't do any good. My sim still had to go to work.

I noticed this too.  It definitely came with the patch- I haven't gotten Supernatural or Seasons yet.  It came in handy for my sim!

It's because your sims can now actually get sick and should stay home from work so they don't spread it.

Interestingly enough, I was playing a test family earlier today and my doctor still had to go to work in spite of being sick.

Yeah, I think that's bad practice. Just putting that out there.

Yes, that's the problem with it. It should be like an emergency button, but it doesn't work. Yet another problem with work scheduling.

It might have been her workaholic trait, though. Which she has. I think her non-workaholic doctor roomie got time off when he was sick, as well as pretty much any other sim I've played.

Anyone want to confirm this for me? I actually hate having my sims miss work just because of a little cold (unless they're, well, doctors).

No, I had the same problem with my doctor. She had thrown a party and then she got called to work right as it started. I figured, I could call in sick...but nope it doesn't work. My sim had to go to work anyways...but she did get her regular work day off, which sucked. No point in having something like that in the game if you can't use it when you really need it.

So doctors can't call in sick or workaholic's can't call in sick? That is a little strange!

No, they could call in fake sick, but if they were actually sick they had to go to work anyways.

so workaholic sims can call in fake sick, and not go to work but if they are genuinely sick then they do go to work?

I had my sim call in fake sick, and received a message that "word on th e street is that ---- is not really sick, and this will reflect poorly on her job performance. Luckily, she was already on level 10 of her career!

I also noticed that my Sim (special agent - law enforcement career) and while she could call in sick for the official schedule, she couldn't fake sick when called in via her beeper (much like the doctors). A bit frustrating when the sims call in sick to have a wedding and get called in before she could get married. Great wedding.
