Newbie Intro and quick question!
« on: November 14, 2009, 02:39:20 PM »
Hey folks, I'm Yig.
First I want to say, Big Thanks to Carl and his guide.  It has helped me A LOT! My wife thinks I'm nuts being so into this game, but I'm sure as the rest of you, since my first Sim, I have been hooked  :D. I have given up trying to tell her about my Sim's day, she just doesnt get it!

Anyhow, my question is: I have a Sim that owns some of the business in town, and I keep seeing edit town mentioned, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to get to that. I'm sure I'm looking right at it and I'll feel like a dope, but a little help with that please?!

While I'm here, I did discover a handy little trick by accident. After getting the hang of the game, I created a Sim that had the fishing and gardening skills maxed out. His garden has the money trees and life plants and his yard has its own pond which he stocked when possible. I then left the sprinklers on and his radio and little fire pit there. Now all he has to do is just go next door and harvest and fish without having to travel far and he's still happy. When he reached his elder stage I started feeding him lots of life fruit and had him adopt a child. The child is now young adult and he can harvest and fish as well. I am keeping him young as possible until he masters his traits for life wish. Don't know if that will help anyone, but I thought I'd throw that out there. It is actually three houses I have built in a cul-de-sac that are working like that. So three ponds and two gardens! Oh yeah, btw, you can catch the deathfish in the daytime if the pond is stocked with them on your lot.

Thanks for listening and see you on the boards my new friends!

Hi and welcome to the forum.  Most of your post should go to the Introduce yourself thread, but I can answer your question.  When you click on the . . . in game, you will have the option to Edit Town along with save, quit etc.  Select Edit Town and it will then ask if you would like to save your town before going to the Editing Screen.  From there you can click on individual lots and do lots of things with them.  Good luck!
