My Sim didn't die the second time

I'm fairly new to Sims on the PC having only played on the PS3. I had to go back to an earlier save due to the no move in at marriage problem. On the first play through, my elder died right after the wedding. He was 252 on extended which seems pretty old. On the second play through, he didn't die. He's now 255. On the PS3, the death always happened at the same time on re-play. Is this typical on the PC?

The death of a Sim is usually calculated by the game from midnight to 5 am I think.  So if you replayed those hours then it's likely that his number just didn't come up the second time.

I have had this happen in the past.  They die, game crashes, reload and they don't die.
