Unable to Reinstall Store Items

I did my usual uninstall/reinstall before installing Ambitions. Then once I had Ambitions installed with everything else, I went to the Sims 3 Store to redownload all of my items (through Purchase History),  They downloaded and installed through the launcher just fine, but when I opened the game, none of them were there. I did another clean uninstall/reinstall, again went back to the Store and downloaded my Purchase History, again installed it through the launcher...  and again it's not in my game. Not even Riverview! I wrote to EA late last night, but haven't heard anything from them yet.  Anyone have suggestions for me?

Unfortunately, I don't have a REAL suggestion, but I bet it's a glitch somewhere.  I, myself, can't even get store content to go to the launcher to get downloaded.

I am having similar problems and so are many folks according to the main forums.  I finally got Riverview installed and usable by using the in game launcher/loader or whatever it's called.  You might try that as well if you haven't.

Normally I just browse the website and re-download content from there, but I could not get anything to show up in game as you have stated.  I called it good for now and didn't try to download any of my other store content.

Now if I can just stop the random crashes to desktop.  :(

I think it is a site issue, which they have had alot of problems the last few months.  My sister had trouble buying and downloading.  I told her to keep trying everyday when she turned her computer on.  Everything started working again and now it is down again.  I think it will be just a matter of time before it is up and running again.  You would think that if it was down, no one would be able to download their items, but for some reason it does not affect everyone.  Hope it gets solved soon.

I type here not because I have a proper solution for this, but just to mention that for me everything just works the way it should. I can play in Riverview, have my store items back so everything works, except for CAW.
Before I was playing Ambitons I've reinstalled everything, exactly like how it is descriped in another topic of you Pam, with that defragmentating, and disc cleanup before installing the game again.
So this is not the same problem as with CAW, where everyone isn't able to play it anymore. It must work, somehow, maybe you just need to keep trying. Of couse I can tell you from A to B how I reinstalled everything (which will take a way a whole free day, no exaggeration) so you are sure for real everything works like it should do, but I doubt that the way I did it is so different from your workflow.

O wait, there is probably a difference. I use Boostspeed to defragmentate and disc cleanup my system. It could be that is the isue, but I doubt it. Although Boosspeed works better than Windows own speedprograms, the Windows programs should be just fine.

For those with a similar problem, here is how I solved the Riverview problem.

I uninstalled the game, then reinstalled and downloaded Riverview and installed it again. That didn't work.

Then I deleted and reinstalled the game, then also deleted the Sims 3 folder in My Documents, then downloaded Riverview and installed it. Now it works.

I could have saved my saved games in my Documents folder, but didn't bother. I'm just happy to have Riverview as an option.

That is indeed a option that will work. But if you would like to play your older families you could save them as a file on it's own. Than you can install them again in your new game, if you can't use your old ea games file.

I've gotten another response from EA about this.  They say to do a clean reinstall of just Ambitions.  I haven't tried it yet because I'm writing an article for the Guide and don't want to risk losing that file until I'm finished.  I'll be able to reinstall Ambitions in a day or two, then see if it helps.

You write articles? Nice, I didn't know you did that too, besides all those other things here. What did EA actually mean with a clean install of just Ambitions? As far as I know is a clean reinstall, reinstalling everything, and therefore also deleting the Electronic Arts file in you My Documents folder. I don't think that is possible for just Ambitions.

Yes, it's possible to do a clean reinstall of just Ambitions.  By "clean" they mean that you have to do more than just use Control Panel to remove the program.  You have to remove files from other places and the registry.  On the Technical Help Board, I have three posts that explain how to remove each of the existing games and now I have the instructions on how to remove Ambitions.   It's on this link for now, but I'll add it to our Technical Help Board soon.

Those are some? Wow, those are many, in my opinion! Very cool!
I have read a few of them already, but I must have overlooked your name above it.
I'm kind of looking forward to start writing mine myself tomorow, although I'm a bit scared/afraid (what is the right word?) that it will be a flop. But oh well, I probably just have to start writing though.

Nice to know that there is now a topic explaining how to reinstall one particular game. Not that I need it now, but it could be in the (near) future.

So here is my little problem...
Today while playing the sims I wanted to buy a plant that I had downloaded from the Sims3 store (one of the plants in the earth day collection) and it wasn't in my buy mode.  I then exited my game and looked at the installed content section of my welcome page, and once again everything was gone.  Then I tried re-downloading everything I lost but for some reason nothing will show up... I am very confused at what I am doing wrong!!

I had the same thing happen.  Click here to read about the whole mess and the ultimate solution.

The solution for me was to reinstall just Ambitions, but there's lots of other info you'll need on that thread.  I'm merging your post with the other thread so it will all be together.
