Rejects all romantic actions

Hello, I got a new computer and Sims 3 now works on it, yay!  Anywho, my sim is living in a house with Leighton Sekemoto and they're boyfriend and girlfriend. However, once I proposed to go steady, Leighton stopped accepting all romantic actions, even just an amorous hug. I moved him into the house and had them come from him which works fine. However my sim has the wish to propose to him and he only has the wish to get married so if she proposes they'd get more happiness points. If I try to have all the basic actions from him to get up to extremely irresistible and full relationship bar, and get her to propose, he rejects it. His traits are good, brave, frugal, family orientated and ambitious. I'm pretty sure none of those traits have any negative effects on romance and family orientated should make him more likely to accept proposals. Does anyone have any idea as to why this is happening? 

Edit: It doesn't matter any more, my sims got sent on a free vacation (for Leighton's teen son, Sam) and their wishes got wiped. Anyone know why it happened anyway?

check Leighton's Bio and see if he has any other romantic relationships going on, or save and exit to the main menu, reload the game and try again. I had the problem with a married couple I created in CAS not performing the romantic interactions, but once I reloaded it worked fine.

JSBrantner is correct. If Leigton has another relationship, he is likely to reject romantic socials. It may be a bug or glitch, so you could either break up with Leigton or use clean slate to keep your friendship but lose your going steady status.
