Crashing in build/buy mode

Lately, I've been having a lot of problems with my game crashing but it runs fine on live mode. It seems to be build mode that's more of a problem, sometimes it will work for hours without a hitch but other times it's as soon as I click the build mode icon. I'm not sure if it's something that can be remedied by just cleaning up some files (I wouldn't know which ones to clean anyway) but it's a nightmare having to restart everything every time the game crashes.
