Does the Childish trait hinder performance?
« on: June 25, 2010, 04:10:18 PM »
Does anyone know for a fact if the childish trait hinders work performance? Here's what happened to me: My sim, Blair is working in Law Enforcement. Since she's close to the adult stage and her lifetime wish is to become an International Superspy but she's only on level 3 of the career because of pregnancies, I want her to level up as fast as possible (this is in a legacy). So, I have her and Stephen woohoo immediately before she heads for work (a trick I learned from none other than Metropolis Man) so her fun bar is maxed up. However, she has the childish trait so the Having a Blast moodlet only lasts 5 hours, not 8. She arrives before her shift starts so I have her Take it Easy before 9 AM so she doesn't lose any fun before gaining work performance. At the stroke of 9 AM, I switch her to Work Hard and have her do that for the entire shift. She gets up to the very top, but I suppose it wasn't at 100% because after she got out of work, she did not get a promotion. Could this have to do with her mood dropping 40 points earlier than someone without the childish trait?

I haven't tested this, but it would make sense.  Mood is a big factor in gaining promotions.  Is she meeting all the other markers for her level?

Yeah, both her logic and Partner statuses were the highest possible ratings.

She doesn't happen to be a Workaholic, does she?

jmz, make sure to have Blair pick up the Multi-Tasker reward if she has not already. That is pure gold for any career Sim and will shoot the performance meter up quite a bit faster.

Pam, no she does not. Metro, I can't believe I forgot about that. I will have her get that as soon as I get on next!
