My sim got the attraction moodlet when talking to Nick Alto, which I thought was really creepy. They have nothing in common, other than liking to work and making money. Traits really should be taken into consideration and not to just one or two, but all traits of a sim. I still find this attraction nonsense to be dumb and don't really like the game forcing my sim to be attracted to other sims.

The online dating thing needs a dislikes section where you can add traits you are not looking for. This would help a lot.

Like many other features (the celebrity system, romantic reputation), I think this is an excellent idea that unfortunately wasn't implemented thoughtfully enough. All three of these features are way too sensitive--one shouldn't become a celebrity from delivering a plate of cookies, or be called a cheater because someone tried to flirt with you but you didn't flirt back, or have seemingly random Sims turning into creepy stalkers. It's frustrating, because they really are excellent ideas that should add more depth and nuance to the game, but they wound up a bit muddled in the execution.

Agreed. It doesn't bother me per se, since it's only natural for most people to feel attraction no matter their relationship status. The silliness comes from how the Sims act on it -- especially when a happily married townie couple with a very high relationship BOTH make googly eyes at another Sim in the same room at the same time. You'd think everyone was polyamorous. Yet when any actual romantic interactions kick in, hello jealousy! So flirting is bad, but sending love letters and expensive gifts is fine? Eh. It'd be nice if both open relationships and asexual Sims were possible.
