My House was hit by lightning?

I'm not sure if this is what caused it but I'm playing in Bridgeport in an apartment, and there was a lightening storm and my lights changed to different colors and were turning on and off and the plumbing broke. I don't know if it affects electrical items because I don't have any but I think this would be due to lightening. Has anyone else seen this?

Ok I figured out why the lights changed, the Ford Focus "start something remote" when pushed makes disco lights out of the household lights(super annoying) but still not sure about the spontaneous plumbing breakages (too much of a coincidence for all the plumbing to break simutaneously right?)

Well, I broke all the plumbing in a house by having my alien summon a meteor. Of course my alien was never invited back over to the Ivanov's house again after that...but it was worth it. A meteor strike won't destroy the building...but it can cause items in the building to break so maybe something like that happened to your sims house. Did you see any rocks or scrap metal around?

No, I had an alien a few days before but there was never any space rocks and I don't have any either, I was real bummed that he didn't leave me some because the're hard to find in BP.

When I used that dumb remote my plumbing broke too. I am so mad at that thing. What is the point?

I will admit it was handy to get my handiness skill up, but not worth using it again.

Wow you're a genius! I didn't think of that! I have two Sims that both need to max Handiness and hardly any appliances or plumbing. Now I know how to make things break! Hurray!

Edit: Sure, now the remote isn't breaking everything! When I want it to! Of course!
