New glitches?

I have no idea if this is related to the new patch which I installed yesterday, or if it's entirely coincidental, but I seem to have come across a couple of glitches I've never seen before.

1) I no longer have the option to analyse any space rocks
2) When I tell him to use the telescope (search galaxy) my sim only uses it for a few seconds before glitching and ending up a few metres away from the telescope, with all his queued actions cancelled.

Has anyone seen either of these before, or know of any fixes? Is anyone else having similar issues since the new patch, or are these old glitches that I've just never encountered before?

Both are known concerns and have been brought up in the patch thread we have on the General Discussion board.   Right now according to crincrit there is no way of knowing what will fix these items other than soon to be updated mods.   Apparently autonomous stargazing will not cause you to reset though.
