Babies born at home
« on: October 18, 2012, 12:46:05 AM »
I tried birthing at home. When they came out, whenever I clicked on them to snuggle or play with, the actions cancel automatically. I ended up with the social worker taking my children. Is there any way to fix this?

Were they in a crib at the time? Sometimes the crib gets glitched and you have to first select "Hold" to get them out of the crib, and then whatever social interaction you want to do.

It's got to be a glitch and I doubt it will show up in another game file.  Having the babies at home wouldn't make any difference with that sort of thing.  If you're still playing that file, I suggest you try replacing the crib, too.

Also, I'm moving this to Miscellaneous Help.

ombradellarosa's suggestion has worked for me many times in the past.  Sooner or later, the problem goes away (usually between play sessions) or the babies grow up.  All my babies are born at home, though not all of them have this problem, so I don't think the two are connected.  In addition to replacing the crib, sometimes moving it helps, too.

I have had the "not able to interact with baby" in the past.  The first time the social worker took the baby.  The second time I got smart and moved mother and baby to clip board in edit town.  Then I just placed them back in the home.  That worked.  Since I installed pets, it has not happened.  Later patched may have fixed that.

I've had this happen a lot when it's multiple births or when you automatically put the baby in the crib right after giving birth.   If you take a moment to do some snuggling and playing maybe even candy stealing before putting the baby to bed, it doesn't seem to happen as much.
