Replicating spoiled food [Solved]
« on: October 20, 2012, 06:05:11 AM »
Recently my food replicators have been replicating spoiled food. The food was "Perfect" quality when stored and when I have my sim replicate a meal it comes out instantly spoiled. Any one else ever see this happen?

That happened to me in my Previous game, So It Isn't Just You.

Yes, that happens most likely because the food isn't supposed to be replicated in bad quality.
There is a certain amount of time it take a dish to go from perfect, or any other quality it was made in to spoiled. Apparently the food replicator recet that time for a few seconds, but when you finally replicate the food it will go back to bad in just a matter of seconds.
It had happend to me too. That's why I only make a 'record' of the food directly after making the dish. And I copy only the 8 dish-dish so I can store the rest in the refrigurator once done.

Of course, Ambrosia can't be stored as a 8 person dish, but that's obviously, as it isn't made like that either.

Actually the food was stored in the replicator immediately after being prepared and was (as I said above) "Perfect" quality when stored. I didn't store bad food or even old food, just fresh perfect single helpings.

After the most recent patch, food previously stored in fridges had suddenly gone bad.  I'm wondering if this could be related. Have you tried storing new food to see if the same thing happens?

I've tried to make this clear in my two previous posts but apparently failed. Seems I've chosen my words poorly. What I meant by "the food was stored in the replicator immediately after being prepared" was that it was new food being stored.

Oh, I see.  Sorry I misunderstood.  I was hoping this might be something as simple as the patch-related issue.

I do not have what ever EP witches came with.

I only have Late Night, World Adventurer and Ambitions; so no, no witches or restoration spells.

So you made a recipe, you put it into the replicator and then soon afterwards you took a helping out and it was bad.   You know the food was perfect going in.

Have you attempted to get a new replicator to see if it's just that machine?
Has anything on your lot happened between the last time you took out a perfect meal and this time?
Anything about your gameplay changed?
Do you regularly clear out your cache files?
Did you restart the game and the food came out bad a second time or just the first time?

Well, There are 4 replicators on the lot and it's happening to all of them.

I've tried storing new perfect meals over the ones that were coming out bad and the new stored food comes out bad too.

No. I don't regularly clear out cache files and I haven't tried restarting the game. I guess I'll try restarting the game first and see if that helps.

Well, restarting the game didn't fix it so then I just deleted all 4 Replicators and put in 4 new ones. That seems to have worked. Now I have 4 replicators all with upgraded memory and fully loaded with 240 total servings of various meals and they are coming out perfect so far.

So the problem might have been the four replicators?
Hm, sound like a little glitch to me. Sometimes these little things happen.
But, glad you've got it solved yourself now. Well done. :)
