What would happen if I delete the sims 3 install data (ps3)

Just curious if the game would install when I put the game back in? Also, if I delete the DLC and updates will the game automatically install the latest patch?

Yea the game will have to re-install from the disc but not sure if it will download patches if you don't delete the updates.
Just remember if you delete some files you may find that your studio will be empty so you will loose any saved sims, houses, clothing and any rewards/challenges you've unlocked/completed.

Your actual game save files will still work though so you could easy unlock/complete some of the rewards and challenges again if you load them and play them for a sim day or 2 and also save your sims or houses to the studio should you want them back.

I thought I would start over on everything and that's why I asked. I thought maybe if I delete the install data and reinstall it it will remove the glitches i've been having?

It's possible it might fix the glitches but it doesn't mean they won't happen again. For instance if you deleted the install files and patches then didn't patch the game your likely to encounter the save game glitch, but patching it should help prevent that glitch.

Other glitches like not being able to interact with a bookcase can be fixed by aging a toddler sim. What glitches are you having issues with? Sometimes moving house can fix a few bugs too.

I started a game the other night and the glitches I've had already is the mail coming once a week, and the tv freezing on a picture (no sound just a picture) just minor nothing problemsom. I miss the first game I ever made no glitches or anything it was perfect.

After a week or 2 of starting a game my mail always came once a week unless one of my sims was a writer or I got gems back that I sent to be cut. I wouldn't worry about the mail if it's bills, stuff like gems being sent back have known to be glitchy sometimes.

As for the tv's for me that seemed to happen on specific tv models only, some it never happened so you could try buying a different tv. The picture tends to fix itself after awhile especially when changing channel for me.

Those all happened before and after the patch for me so I wouldn't mess about un-installing stuff to try and fix it as ive done that before and those small bugs still happened.
